Counselling for Students / Young People

I offer counselling for young people in Cambridge as well as for adults. Having worked for over 15 years in a Cambridge sixth form college as Counsellor and Head of Welfare, I have a great deal of experience of working with young people. I also worked at the NHS Drug and Alcohol Service for 2 years and have been a counsellor at Centre 33, young person’s advice and counselling centre in Cambridge, for 2 years. I am accredited by the BACP and have an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.

I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can explore whatever is important to you. You may just need a safe place to talk about what is going on in your life.

My counselling room is easily accessible by bus, bicycle or car with plenty of free parking space. It is about 20 minutes’ walk from the City Centre.

You can come for one session or as many as you feel you need.

Counselling may involve the following:

• Discussing the relationships that you have with family and friends
• Trying to understand feelings of anxiety or depression
• Talking about an eating disorder
• Trying to understand why you feel angry and sometimes out of control
• Dealing with a need to take drugs or alcohol, which overwhelm you.

These are all normal situations which can be changed through discussion and exploration.
